Instructions
- Over medium heat you will have to melt butter in a heavy-bottom skillet or dutch oven.
- Saute diced onions, bell peppers and garlic until fragrant and soft.
- Add mushrooms, salt and pepper and cook over medium heat until liquid is evaporated.
- Mix in three tablespoons of flour. Mix it until the vegetables seem fairly coated.
- Put the milk in real slow. Stir once in a while during this. Cook it until thick. You will want to turn up the heat for this.
- Remove mixture from heat and stir in sour cream. Put to the side. You'll leave it there for now.
- Bring a large pot of water to boil. While water is heating, fill a large bowl with ice water.
- Until green beans are bright green, cook them in boiling water. Put them in cold water right away.
- Mix green beans with Parmesan cheese and sauce.
- Toss remaining tablespoon flour with sliced onion. Put oil in a heavy skillet. Heat it until it is quite hot.
- The oil can have the floured onions fried in it. The green beans will have fried onions on them. Top it in this way.
- For 30 to 45 minutes, you'll heat the green bean casserole in a 350 degree oven. You are able to microwave the mixtures on medium-high if the oven is full of stuff.
