It's Right Around Earth Day 2010

Earth-1

It is close to that time of year to remember the Earth for a day – yes, it’s Earth Day on April 22. Earth Day 2010, and any Earth Day really, is a good time to be mindful of being better custodians of the environment. Our children inherit exactly what we leave behind, so don’t leave them trash. If you want to involve the little ones, there are Earth Day Activities for Kids. Plenty of things you can do are incredibly cost-effective, so doing something for Earth Day won’t make need debt relief.

April 22, 1970 was the first Earth Day

The first Earth Day was a teach in. Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-WI) started speaking at rallies for a lot more attention to be called to environmental issues within the fall of 1969. With the help of media coverage and organizers, a grassroots effort for environmental advocacy took off. Rallies, and teach ins at colleges and universities all took place on April 22 1970. 20 million people partook, and Earth Day and Earth week were born. It grew from there, and Earth Day is celebrated across the globe on April 22.

So what to do??|Exactly what can I do}?}

Lots of things could be done for Earth Day 2010. You are able to use grass clippings and leaves to start a compost pile. You are able to spruce up a yard and add value to your property by planting a tree. (The Arbor Day Foundation has a lot more info on that.) Try some recycling. For recycling certain materials, you could make some cash now.One couple is paying for their wedding with recycled cans and made national headlines with their project Wedding Cans.

The EPA expands on Earth Day

The Environmental Protection Agency website has some things for Earth Day. They have a section called Pick 5 for the Environment, and conservation tips for air, power, water, waste, and activism. Going to the EPA website will give you some tips on conservation.
