According to The New York Daily News, kids that have the rare gene disorder Williams syndrome are not subject to the racial biases present in their peers.. Behavioral therapists indicate that many people develop a preference for people of our own ethnic group by the time we’re three years old. Whether this falls on the nature or nurture side of the equation is a debate that might never end, but kids diagnosed with Williams syndrome appear to be free of racial bias, according to Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg of Germany’s University of Heidelberg. Tests indicate that Williams syndrome children attribute neither friendliness nor naughtiness a lot more often to any one race, which is quite different than the results turned in on the exact same tests by non-Williams syndrome kids, who attribute a lot more favorable characteristics to photos of kids of the very same race.
Williams syndrome children tend to be hypersocial
Williams syndrome children lack a specific gene, which some scientists feel makes living normal life difficult. On the one hand, they do not suffer from racial bias or social anxiety due to their hypersocial nature. If they could apply for no fax payday loans no credit check, they wouldn’t be afraid to ask. This is in large part the case because of the heightened verbal nature that makes Williams syndrome sufferers a lot more social. However, the trade off is that Williams syndrome children cannot detect common social danger signals, indicates Meyer-Lindenberg. This means that they may not be able to tell if an additional means to do them physical harm. This lack of “common sense” when it comes to body language is also accompanied by more overt signs like mental retardation, heart defects and unusual facial features, according to Wikipedia.
But Williams syndrome mountains aren’t unscalable
Part of social interaction is learned, believes Meyer-Lindenberg, so Williams syndrome doesn’t make it extremely hard for an affected child to learn in order to protect themselves. Easy socialization isn’t exactly a handicap, either. Set aside the unalterable physical and mental symptoms and the rest isn’t really bad. The Williams syndrome child does possess the enviable characteristic of easy socialization, which is something from which we all could learn. Social interaction is a dynamic pathway leading toward humanity’s evolution. Staying in contact – and using a few installment loans for people with bad credit along the way – can make all the main difference.
