For the last few years, Dunkin Donuts Free Iced Coffee Day has been a tradition for fans of the store. It was a surprise, then, when the Dunkin Donuts Free Iced Coffee Day 2010 Facebook page lit up with complaints. Dunkin Donuts coffee only costs a few bucks – less than installment payday loans– but numerous people are nevertheless asking "why wasn't it free"?

- Charlottesville, VA
- Cleveland, OH
- Harrisonburg, VA
- Norfolk, VA
- Washington, DC
- Youngstown, OH
- Pittsburgh, PA
- Richmond, VA

Why is Dunkin Donuts Free Iced Coffee Day 2010 so limited?
Dunkin Donuts Free Iced Coffee Day 2010 was initially a national event. When asked for comment, a spokesperson said that “As part of our 60th birthday celebration, Dunkin' Donuts is offering a variety of regional promotions throughout the year instead of a national Free Iced Coffee Day.”
The story behind this, though, is a bit a lot more complicated. The stock of Dunkin Donuts’ parent company has dropped from over $20 per share to under $15 in the past year, and is now trading at about $18. Market positioning is becoming tougher, with stronger competition, and customers tightening their belts.
