Bank of America was taken hostage in Coral Gables, Florida. There’s an investigation into the kidnapping that preceded this hostage situation. At approximately 11:42 this morning, Coral Gables police confirmed the last person was out of the bank and the Miami hostage scenario was over.
Several hostages stuck in the Bank of America at Coral Gables
Reporters have been informed the Coral Gables Bank of America heist began on Thursday night. The connection isn’t certain, however is being investigated. The person who was kidnapped had to strap themselves to a bomb. Allegedly, the individual entered the financial institution before it opened. At 8 a.m., officials were notified of the Miami-area hostage situation and started their response. The transportation infrastructure around the Coral Gables Bank of America was shut down, as were the schools right across the street from the bank.
Robbery and home attack in Miami area linked
There was a home attack within the Miami Nob Hill apartments Thursday. This home invasion might have been a kidnapping, and has been linked to the bank robbery. Police are on the lookout for two individuals driving a red Mustang. The FBI and police have not yet said if the people responsible really entered the financial institution themselves. Either way, it was a Bank of America employee that was strapped to the explosive device. It is also not yet clear if the Coral Gables Bank of America was being robbed for a quick no fax payday loans no credit check or if the Miami hostage scenario was intended to create a distraction for some other crime.
Hostages leave before the bomb was diffused
There has been confirmation the Coral Gables Bank was taken hostage. By 11:20 a.m. local time, the last person held hostage exited the building. However, FBI and police confirm that the explosive device squad is still on the scene. While the explosive device was diffused, officials stayed on the scene — though hostages were taken for medical treatment. Until every little thing was declared safe, the highways, public transportation, and schools were all kept closed.
